Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, November 10th, 2010 and and here are today’s headlines!

Do you know English? Have you finished elementary school? Well the Reedy Creek ESL tutoring program could really use some more tutors for the 2nd and 3rd trimester. The program tutors students from 1st through 5th grade from 3:40-5. If you would like to be a tutor, or you would like more information please email Rim Mehari or Alisha Jarwala.

Today is the last Wednesday of the first trimester, as a reminder there are no double blocks this week, today we will be following a Monday schedule.

Veteran’s Day is this tomorrow. Many Veterans of all ages are without a permanent home of their own, even in our area. With the weather getting colder, there will be a winter clothing drive for these homeless veterans. Donate any new or gently used winter clothing. Bins are located in the lobby of the Upper School.

Cary Academy began its first school year in 1996. For the first 4 years of the school, the Upper School struggled to get its daily news. In 2000, led by Bridget Harron, 600 Seconds aired for the first time. Shortly thereafter a website was created to give people another way to watch the show. That website stands until today, 10 years after our first show. For those of you watching on the web, you have been honored with watching the show hon the original 600 seconds website for the last time. Starting tomorrow morning the new 600 seconds website will be unveiled, ready to take on the second decade of 600 seconds. And it will change the way you get your morning news, forever!

This coming Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, November 12-14, Applause Cary Youth Theater will be performing “The Little Prince” in the Fine Arts Theater. The show will start at 7:30 and all ticket information is on the Applause Cary Youth Theater website. Two CA students are a part of the cast and they would love for anyone and everyone to attend.

Today is a dress down day for juniors, congratulations on winning the hall decorating contest!

Tomorrow night is the glow stick dance, it is going to be pretty intense, and pretty free so everyone should come out and have a great time.

The Winter Meet the Coaches Night is tonight starting at 6. It will begin in the Dinning Hall and then each respective sport will split up into different classrooms in the Upper School.

The teacher of the day is Palmer Seeley (U113)
Today is open lunch. Attention Key Club members, during first lunch today is your last meeting of the trimester. Make sure you have turned in your hours to Matt Lee. If you need more hours, there are still service opportunities over break, so come to the meeting to learn more.
